1970s anti-war graffiti on the canal bridgge at Cononley Lane End. Someone has written to us recently asking if we know anything about the anti-Vietnam war graffiti and casualty statistics daubed on the canal bridge at Cononley Lane End in the latter years of the 1960s and into the '70s. Those of the group who can remember it confirm that the Kildwick side of the bridge was comprehensively covered for several years but we don't know if was a single attack that was never cleaned off or whether it was regularly "updated". Does anybody know; does anybody have photographs ?
